Perspective
One sided attacks
O’Sullivan writes that radical Islam is throwing everything it has into this latest mountain-out-of-a-molehill, including adding a few choice cartoons to the alleged blasphemous ones.
Three cartoons were more harsh and insulting than the rest. But these had not been published originally in Jyllands-Posten. They were added by the radical Islamists who distributed the cartoons around the Muslim world.
A falling camel attracts many knives
Mark says now is the time to stand up and fight.
As my columnar confrere John O’Sullivan argued, we might as well fight in the first ditch as the last.

A man of integrity
Say what you will of Garth Turner, but you have to give him credit for being a man of integrity.
I’ll be driving back to the riding this morning, after one of the more interesting weeks of my short reincarnated political career. All you have to do is have a gander at the last couple of postings here to get a sense of the craziness that has been aswirl in Ottawa.
I hope he keeps his blog going whilst an MP.

How could you not?
How she “forgot” to thank American Idol is beyond dumb and insulting.

Scandal continues
Is nothing sacred?
The world must be coming to an end soon when the Great One appears tainted.
Wayne Gretzky was recorded on a wiretap talking to the alleged financier of a gambling ring, discussing how the hockey great’s wife could avoid being implicated, a person with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press on Thursday.
More proof even the rich can’t have enough.

What’s he thinking?
No matter what his reasoning, Harper is not starting things off on the right foot. It’s this kind of move that really turns the voter off.
I am against turncoats: if they want to cross over, let them resign and call a byelection. Flipping over right after an election is the height of hyprocrisy.
I like this guy
Apparently we have a real world MP in this parliament.
Running for public office is a standard stunt for self-consciously wacky radio hosts. But few count on actually being elected..."I think any member of Parliament should have a real job,” Mr. Arthur told the CBC. “Maybe if they all had a real job, they would sound less like Martians
How refreshing.

Intolerant innovation
Mark’s amazed how quickly you can get a Danish flag in remote parts of the Muslim world.
But where do you get one in an obscure town on the Punjabi plain on a Thursday afternoon? If I had a sudden yen to burn the Yemeni or Sudanese flag on my village green, I haven’t a clue how I’d get hold of one in this part of New Hampshire. Say what you like about the Islamic world, but they show tremendous initiative an
He’s also amazed how easy it will be for the Intifada to swallow up the west.
Latest ROP Uprising
As usual, LGF is right on the case, with two great posts:
We’re All Danish Now, and Get Yer Danish Cartoons Here.
Remember, Iran wants the nuclear bomb - and this is all over cartoons..
Breast is best, but
Some people take things to the extreme.
A PENRITH mum has appeared on national TV to explain why she is still breastfeeding her daughter who is nearly eight – and why she gave her older daughter breast milk as a ninth birthday present.

Adler likes Howie
One of my favorite columnists and radio guys also admires Howard.
You have to respect Howard Stern’s financial acumen.

I always liked Pat
...and apparently, so does Earl McRae.
Pat Marsden, who’s dying of lung cancer, picks up the phone in his room at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital.

Quebec daycare bad for children
Another study from the “no kidding” and “told you so” file.
Quebec’s much-heralded universal child-care program might be good for the economy, but not for the kids enrolled in it, a study by a Toronto-based think tank says...the researchers point to a 2003 study by the U.S.-based National Institute of Child Health and Development Early Childcare Research Network that also linked disobedience and aggression to time spent away from maternal care.
It won’t be long before the women’s groups start attacking this one.

Inane Rulings
Do you need more proof that the people in the human rights commission are venturing into territory far from their mandate and need to be disbanded?
Canada’s top court has given the country’s human rights commission the go-ahead to investigate whether flight attendants should be paid the same as pilots and airline mechanics.
How long will it last?
Would you spend hundreds of dollars on radio equipment knowing that the first CRTC complaint will probably result in Howard being yanked from Canada? Not me. Let’s see how long Howard lasts up here.
Canada’s leading satellite radio provider to add The Howard Stern Show on Howard 100 as of February 6th
Howard gave it a mention this morning on his show, but he’s not optimistic he’ll be here long.
