Watch your kids

Sadly, every couple of years in the Big Smoke (Toronto) a kid is abducted and murdered.  The last child was little Alex Currie, savagely murdered by her bitter father.  His sentence was shameful, but typical of Canada.

The latest innocent was declared murdered tonight. She disappeared from a rundown area of the city called the Junction, known for its drug dealers and halfway houses.  Soon we will find out a pedophile or a 20-40 year old white drifter kidnapped, raped and dismembered her and scattered her remains along the waterfront.

A frantic mother’s plea for her daughter’s safe return proved tragically futile Tuesday as the 10-year-old girl’s dismembered remains were pulled from Lake Ontario less than 24 hours after her disappearance.

It’s sick and twisted - as will be the response from Canada’s flaccid and weak justice system.  The tragedy in this case is not so much that her parents were negligent in keeping their precious daughter under tight watch, but more that our Trudeau-inspired justice system will do little to punish and perhaps deter further incidents.

In short, our injustice system will reinforce that Canada does not value children by its unwillingness to punish their killers.  If a society is judged by how it protects its most innocent members, our children (particulary females), then ours should be condemned.

Canada needs the death penalty brought back now. - for this killer and future ones.

More publicity for Homolka book

karla.jpg border=5 align=leftThe more the victims of Karla complain, the higher the sales of Deal with the Devil will be.

Niagara police have asked Ontario Provincial Police to help with an investigation into whether a new book about sex killer Karla Homolka breaks the law.

YOA madness

A girl, 17, dies after baseball bat assault.

A 17-year-old Scarborough girl has died from her injuries after she was attacked and struck in the head with a baseball bat.
Police have two youths in custody but would not say whether charges have been laid.
Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Muscat confirmed this morning that the girl died. No other details were available.

You can be sure that the perp will have an easy ride if he’s not tried as an adult.  This of course is the whole point of fixing the YOA, or its evil replacement.  When you’re 17, you’re not a kid - you’re an adult—period!

Protest the YOA!

Air India

Some letters are worth printing in their entirety:

Re: Reyat Sentence Enrages Relatives, Feb. 11.

The only silver lining to the ridiculous sentence given to Inderjit Singh Reyat for pleading guilty to manslaughter is that it has revealed that using the courts to handle terrorists is a farce.

A simple calculation shows that for sending 329 people to their deaths, Reyat will have the privilege of 5 1/2 days in a minimum security prison for each life taken. I didn’t realize that life was so cheap in this country. The best thing that Canada should do in the war against terrorism is to simply keep out of it. If the world has the misfortune of seeing Osama bin Laden end up in Canadian hands, I can’t wait to see what sentence our enlightened justice system will hand him.

Duminda Wijeysundera, Toronto.

Injustice Guestbook

In Canada, the people are ignored when it comes to reasonable sentencing of criminals.  The Homolka wound comes to mind (a new book will pick at that scab next week).

The Air India bomber sentence also comes to mind.  Each day we see another criminal getting off easy.

Go to my Log of Injustices and submit yours.  Let’s start keeping track of them!

More Karla

karla.jpg align=leftKarla’s back in the news...with a new book on her (sex)escapades in prison being released next week.

This entry leads off the category of injustices, which is to highlight the very lenient in(justice) system we have in Canada.  Add to the light sentences some generous plea bargaining, and you have public outrage.

With the Liberal strangehold on our federal government, there is little chance of any of their appointed judges making any changes.
